Lovely room, comfortable bed, spotlessly clean, great breakfast.

Nothing could have been better.

The spa facilities were fantastic at Macdonald. I had a truly relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The therapists were attentive and professional, ensuring I had the best treatment possible. The location of the hotel was also perfect, with easy access to nearby attractions and beautiful beaches. I had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful getaway.

Property was quaint, with exceptional staff and marvellous location in the dining area conservatory.

Reasonably priced place, had a thoroughly enjoyable stay on this weekend. The pool was lovely and I had soft drinks in the cocktail bar. The building itself was very very good with a lovely garden.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel, thanks to the friendly and helpful staff. The hotel itself is beautiful, and though the rooms were a bit dated compared to the exterior, they were still really good. The leisure club attached to the hotel was great, and the location was perfect for visiting nearby attractions such as the zoo and Cheshire Oaks. Our spacious room had a lovely view, and the food served in the hotel was delicious and well-presented. We were even greeted with a lovely bottle of red wine, a fruit bowl, and a selection of cakes in the room. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, and nothing was too much trouble for them.

Everything was very clean, very good service, perfect location close to Cheshire Oaks and Chester and Chester city centre. Gorgeous breakfast was served, good food.

Loved that the hotel was appealing and had accommodating staff from the receptionist. Plenty of food at the breakfast, including toast, pastries, fresh bread, bacon and cheese. Everything was really good during our stay however disappointing aspect was very dated bathroom.

I recently stayed at this 4-star hotel and I must say, I was impressed. The location of this place is simply stunning. It is nestled in a conservatory overlooking the well-kept grounds and surrounded by lovely woodlands. As I walked around, I couldn't help but feel like I was in a peaceful oasis, with a stream flowing just outside the woods. It was truly a serene and beautiful area.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The only downside was that there was one poor member of staff who seemed overwhelmed and couldn't cope with the busy hotel and a wedding happening at the same time.

This is a truly exceptional place to stay in Chester. Comfy bed, well-appointed room, really good facilities. Enjoyed easy check-in and late check-out. Besides, they have strong wi-fi.

The weather was wonderful, had such great stay in quality hotel. I was met by obliging and approaching staff at the reception. The rooms were spotless and immaculate with good view over garden.

The location of the restaurant is perfect for a budget traveller as it offers a peaceful setting surrounded by beautiful grounds. The staff are friendly and attentive, providing excellent customer service. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is outstanding with a wide variety of options to choose from. The spa facilities are a bonus, allowing guests to relax and unwind during their stay.

One negative aspect is that the cleaning of the rooms could be improved, as some guests mentioned scuffs and dirty marks on the walls.

Well, Wi-Fi was very poor.

Staff were apologetic, wi-fi was good, and I appreciated its extremely quiet location very close to Chester, Cheshire Oaks and a conservatory overlooking the grounds. The room was gorgeous, well-appointed & had a lovely bed. Reasonably priced food choices for breakfast. Lovely reception.
